Kaduna State University (KASU) held its 2024/2025 matriculation ceremony on Tuesday, 15th April 2025, to formally welcome newly admitted undergraduate and postgraduate students. The event, held at the 1000-Seater Auditorium, marked a pivotal milestone in the academic journey of the fresh intakes.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, welcomed the students in the presence of university management, staff, parents, guardians, and well-wishers. In his address, Prof. Musa charged the matriculating students to stay committed to their academic goals, strive for excellence, and make full use of KASU’s learning resources—including the library, laboratories, and internet facilities—to enrich their educational experience.
He commended parents and guardians for entrusting the university with the responsibility of shaping the future of their children and wards. Prof. Musa concluded his speech with an inspiring message, urging the students to “think big and aim high.”

Following the administration of the matriculation oath by the Registrar, Samira Balarabe, Esq., the Vice Chancellor officially declared the students bona fide members of the university community, in line with the authority vested in him by the Senate.
A key highlight of the event was the recognition of students from the newly established Faculty of Engineering, who matriculated for the first time in the Departments of Electrical, Mechanical, and Computer Engineering. The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Yusha’u I. Ango, also announced the introduction of cutting-edge programmes designed to meet global demands. These include Data Science, Cyber Security, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Library and Information Science, B.Sc. Broadcasting, and B.Sc. Journalism.

In a unique and exciting twist, the university launched a TikTok Creativity Challenge, inviting students to create engaging content that showcases their creativity and campus experience. The best submission will receive a N50,000 prize—an initiative aimed at fostering innovation and celebrating the vibrancy of university life.
