Functions of Quality Assurance Unit

  • Coordination of accreditation and resource assessment visits to the University by the National University Commission as well as serving as secretariat of the Central Accreditation Committee.
  • Coordination of accreditation and advisory visits to the University by professional bodies.
  • Coordination of registration exercise of students as well as serving as secretariat of the Verification Committee of newly admitted students.
  • Provision of requirements for student admission and graduation, minimum and maximum credit load for students, minimum work load for staff, staff to student ratios for various disciplines, staff mix, etc. as stipulated in the NUC Benchmark Minimum Academic Standards.
  • Scrutiny of staff list vis-Ă -vis lecture timetable to determine requirements for sabbatical/visiting/part-time lecturers before the commencement of every academic session to ensure equitable distribution of workload among staff.
