Kaduna State University (KASU) has successfully secured a World Bank ACreSAL Grant through the dedicated efforts and facilitation of the Green KASU Sustainability Initiative. The grant will be utilized to establish two greenhouses—one at the New Campus and the other at the Kafanchan Campus—enhancing practical sustainability education within the institution.
During a courtesy visit on Friday, 21st February 2025 by the ACreSAL team to the Vice-Chancellor, the Chairman of Green KASU, Dr. Aliyu Jaafar, while introducing the ACreSAL delegation, highlighted that the grant aligns with KASU’s vision and strategic goals. He emphasized that the greenhouses will serve as practical experimentation sites, integrating sustainability into the curriculum and fostering environmental consciousness among students and faculty members.

The Head of the ACreSAL team, Barrister Hadiza Halid, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting the university in various areas, including dryland management, institutional strengthening, and climate resilience. This collaboration aims to enhance KASU’s role in promoting sustainable environmental practices.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, expressed profound appreciation for ACreSAL’s support and commended the Green KASU Initiative for its dedication. He reiterated the university’s commitment to ensuring the sustenance of grant-funded projects through continuous monitoring and evaluation, emphasizing the need to prevent implementation failures and maximize long-term impact.
