Kaduna State University (KASU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Humanitarian Platform for Development (HEP4D) following the organization’s donation of air pollution monitoring equipment. The event took place on Friday, 14th February 2025.This makes KASU the only university in Northern Nigeria to receive such a gesture, marking a significant milestone in environmental research and public health monitoring.



The collaboration is expected to benefit both the university and the Kaduna State Government, as the equipment will facilitate daily monitoring of air pollution to track changes in atmospheric conditions. This initiative aligns with efforts to address environmental challenges and improve air quality in the region.
The MOU signing was formalized by the Vice-Chancellor of KASU, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa alongside Mr. Yakob Olajide, the representative of HEP4D’s founder. Other key figures present at the event included the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Prof. Muhammad Bashir Ali, the Registrar, Samira Balarabe, Esq, the Director of the Center for Climate Change and GIS, Prof. Mande K. Hosea—who also serves as the project coordinator, the University Legal Adviser, Barr. Abdulmutallab Idris, the Public Relations Officer, Adamu Nuhu Bargo, Mal. Usman Ladan from the Directorate of Advancement, and the Administrative Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor, Mr. Josephat Bakut.
