Kaduna State University (KASU) welcomed a delegation from the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) on Thursday, 6th February 2025, on a courtesy visit aimed at promoting academic and professional collaboration.
Leading the delegation, the North-West Coordinator, Mal. Jamilu Iliyasu, stressed the institute’s commitment to enriching banking and finance education by integrating specialized courses into KASU’s curriculum. He noted that the initiative would provide staff and students with enhanced learning opportunities and industry-relevant expertise.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, expressed appreciation for the partnership, assuring the delegation of the university’s readiness to implement the collaboration. She highlighted the importance of such engagements in bridging the gap between academia and industry, ultimately benefiting students and the broader financial sector.


The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Yushau I. Ango, also commended the initiative, emphasizing its role in improving students’ practical knowledge and employability. He noted that exposing students to industry-driven training and certification programs would give them a competitive edge in the financial sector.
