The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) paid a courtesy visit to Kaduna State University (KASU) on Monday, February 3, 2025, to explore potential areas of collaboration.
Led by its National Coordinator, Dr. Saidu Ahmad Dukawa, the IIIT delegation highlighted the institute’s commitment to integrating secular and religious education. Established in 1982 in the United States, IIIT is renowned for organizing conferences, seminars, and workshops that promote intellectual and cultural development.
During the visit, Dr. Dukawa expressed IIIT’s interest in partnering with KASU on environmental sciences from an Islamic perspective to support the preservation of the ecosystem. The team gifted the university some books to enrich the library.

Speaking on behalf of the university’s management, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, commended IIIT’s initiatives and welcomed the collaboration. He stressed KASU’s commitment to academic excellence and research, noting that the university’s strategic plan is currently in its implementation stage.
To facilitate the collaboration, the Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Auwal Farouk Abdussalam, was appointed to oversee the partnership. He further highlighted KASU’s adoption of 21st-century academic programs, including Islamic Economics and Finance, to enhance the institution’s curriculum.
The visit marks the beginning of what promises to be a productive academic relationship between IIIT and KASU, with prospects for local and international conferences in the near future.
