KASU Celebrates First PhD Graduates in Sociology

Kaduna State University (KASU) has achieved a historic milestone with the graduation of its first PhD candidates from the Department of Sociology. Under the leadership of Head of Department, Dr. Jaafar Abdulalkadir, the department has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence.

The ceremony featured three pioneering graduates Khadija Ibrahim, Mathew Samuel, and Deborah Dung who successfully defended their dissertations before esteemed external examiner, Professor Magdalene Igbolo from the University of Abuja.

The graduates expressed deep gratitude to their faculty for their invaluable support throughout their academic journey.

The event was attended by notable figures, including the Provost, College of Communications, Management and Social Sciences, Prof. Victor Kyari Gimba, representing KASU’s postgraduate program, and Dr. Hilary Yacham Zaggi, the Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator.

Prof. Hauwa’u Evelyn Yusuf, Dr. Anthonia Badugu, Prof. Amos James and other notable attendees. Their presence highlighted the significance of this achievement for both the department and the university.

This graduation not only marks a personal triumph for the graduates but also sets a promising precedent for future scholars in sociology, reinforcing KASU’s dedication to advancing research and education in the social sciences.
