Prof. Audee Tanimu Giwa was born in Giwa Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Nigeria. A distinguished academic and prolific writer, he holds a PhD in Literature from Ahmadu Bello University (2013), along with an M.A. and B.A. in English Literature from the same institution.
Currently a professor in the Department of English and Drama at Kaduna State University, Prof. Giwa has held various leadership roles, including Dean of Student Affairs, Dean Faculty of Arts and Head of the Department. His teaching career spans decades, enriched by experiences as a visiting academic in prestigious institutions such as the University of Essex and the University of Agriculture, Makurdi.
Prof. Giwa’s scholarly contributions include critical works on Nigerian literature, gender studies, and cultural narratives. He has authored several novels, collections of short stories, and critical texts, including The Male in the Novels of Zaynab Alkali. A seasoned editor, he has served as Editor-in-Chief of the KASU Bulletin and managed journals like Savanna.
His works bridge academic inquiry and creative expression, often addressing themes of societal dynamics, culture, and identity. Married and fluent in English and Hausa, Prof. Giwa resides in Kaduna and remains a respected voice in Nigeria’s literary and academic circles.
