The National Association of Library and Information Science Educators (NALISE) has paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University (KASU), Professor Abdullahi I. Musa, ahead of its 2026 National Conference scheduled to take place at the university.



The delegation, led by Professor Manir Abdullahi Kamba, visited the Vice-Chancellor as part of activities preceding the four-day national conference, which is expected to bring together educators, researchers, students, information professionals, and other stakeholders in the library and information science profession.
During the courtesy visit, Prof. Kamba welcomed and acknowledged the presence of the KASU Vice-Chancellor and students, while expressing his excitement about the forthcoming conference and the opportunity it presents to strengthen collaboration and professional relationships within the library and information science community.



He also expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and the university management for the support and hospitality extended to NALISE in preparation for the conference, noting the importance of such support to the success of the event.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University, Professor Abdullahi I. Musa, warmly welcomed the NALISE delegation and commended the association for its determination to hold the conference despite the security challenges in the region.



The Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the enthusiasm demonstrated by the delegation and expressed his appreciation for their commitment to the conference, describing the gathering as an important opportunity for intellectual engagement, knowledge sharing, and professional development.
The courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor serves as a prelude to the four-day 2026 NALISE National Conference, which is themed: “Preparing the Next Generation of Information Professionals for Inclusivity, Diversity, and Sustainable Development.”
