Kaduna State University (KASU) has achieved another feat in its internationalisation drive following the formal acceptance of its application for membership of the UNESCO-affiliated International Association of Universities (IAU).
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, said the development places KASU within a global network of higher education institutions, creating opportunities for international partnerships, academic collaboration, knowledge exchange, and greater engagement with universities across the world.
He noted that KASU’s membership will also enhance the University’s global visibility through the World Higher Education Database (WHED), while providing increased opportunities for its academics and leadership to participate in international conferences, workshops, leadership programmes, and other global higher education initiatives.
Professor Musa disclosed that KASU has already begun engaging with the international community through the IAU Executive Leadership Programme, underscoring the University’s commitment to building meaningful global partnerships that will strengthen teaching, research, innovation, and institutional development.
The Vice Chancellor expressed appreciation to the Governor of Kaduna State and Visitor to the University, His Excellency Senator Uba Sani, for his unwavering support for education and human capital development, which continues to provide the enabling environment for KASU’s transformation and expanding international presence.
He reaffirmed that KASU remains committed to connecting the University with the people, institutions, and ideas shaping the future of higher education worldwide.
