KASU FUNFAIR PROVIDES PLATFORM FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP, TALENT AND STUDENT ENGAGEMENT

Kaduna State University (KASU) has organised a vibrant student funfair aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, creativity, talent development, business innovation and social interaction within the university community.

Held on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, the event brought together students, young entrepreneurs, vendors, artistes and members of the university community in an atmosphere of entertainment, creativity and enterprise.

The funfair provided students with an opportunity to showcase their businesses, products, talents and innovative ideas, while also engaging directly with potential customers and building valuable business connections.

Among the activities featured at the event were business exhibitions and sales, musical performances, table tennis, volleyball and other recreational activities. The diverse activities created an avenue for students to relax and socialise while developing relationships and networks beyond the classroom.

A significant aspect of the initiative was its emphasis on student entrepreneurship and self-reliance. The platform encouraged students to explore entrepreneurial opportunities, develop marketable skills and establish businesses capable of generating sustainable income during their university education and after graduation.

The event further demonstrated the potential of student-led enterprises to grow when provided with the necessary exposure, patronage and encouragement. By giving young entrepreneurs an opportunity to display their products and services, the funfair helped connect them with prospective customers while enhancing their confidence and business networks.

Beyond its entrepreneurial focus, the event also provided students with a healthy recreational outlet from the demands of lectures, examinations, assignments and other academic activities. Through sports, music and social interaction, participants were able to unwind, strengthen friendships and foster teamwork and collaboration.

The funfair reflects the importance of a holistic university experience in which academic development is complemented by entrepreneurship, innovation, creativity, talent development and healthy social engagement.

The initiative therefore served as more than a recreational gathering; it provided a practical platform for empowering students, promoting their talents and encouraging a culture of enterprise, creativity and self-reliance within the Kaduna State University community.
