Yashim Samson Usman is a dedicated academician and researcher with a passion for linguistics and language education. He holds a Master’s degree in English from Kaduna State University and is currently a PhD research candidate at the same institution. Yashim has a strong foundation in English studies, having earned both his BA and MA degrees from Kaduna State University, where he also serves as a Lecturer II in the Department of English and Drama.

Yashim’s research interests revolve around the semantic and pragmatic aspects of language, particularly within the Sholio language, which he has analyzed in several scholarly works. His notable publications include works on language endangerment and the semantic contextual variables of vocabularies in Sholio. He has actively participated in international conferences, presenting papers on topics such as the analysis of Sholio language structure and language endangerment.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Yashim is committed to community service, offering lessons through SOKAPU National Students Wing and speaking on communication at local events. He also holds leadership roles, such as Vice Chairman of the Parent-Teachers’ Association at Zioness Mission Academy. His professional affiliations include memberships in the International English Language Teachers Association, Pragmatic Association of Nigeria, and the Association of Nigerian Authors.
