Biography

Mariya Musa Hamza is a passionate academic and researcher specializing in microbiology, parasitology, and infectious diseases. Born on September 23, 1988, in Kaduna, Nigeria, she holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology from Bayero University, Kano, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Parasitology at the Nigerian Defence Academy.

Dr. Hamza joined Kaduna State University in 2017 as a Lecturer, where she has been actively involved in teaching and coordinating courses in microbiology. She has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, with her work focusing on antimicrobial resistance, phytochemistry, and the public health impact of microorganisms.

An active member of professional societies like the Nigerian Society for Microbiology, Dr. Hamza has presented her research at various conferences and published widely in reputable journals. Beyond academia, she contributes to community development through administrative roles and enjoys reading, research, and meditation.
