Dr. Bashariya Mustapha Baba is a researcher and lecturer in the Department of Geography at Kaduna State University. She specializes in environmental management, climate change, sustainable tourism, and geospatial analysis. A member of several professional bodies, she has contributed extensively to research, project supervision, and academic publications.
Dr. Bashariya Mustapha Baba is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Geography, Faculty of Earth Science and Sustainability Studies, at Kaduna State University. She holds a PhD in Environmental Management from the Nigerian Defence Academy, an MSc in Tourism and Recreation, and a BSc in Geography. Her research focuses on climate change, sustainable tourism, natural resource management, environmental studies, and geospatial analysis.
She has conducted extensive research on topics such as vegetation dynamics, climate extreme indices, road network management, and gender studies. Dr. Bashariya is a member of several professional organizations, including the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES) and the Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG). She has collaborated on various projects with government and non-government agencies, including the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) and the British Council.
In addition to her research contributions, she has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate projects. She has received several awards and grants, including funding from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). Dr. Bashariya is also committed to community development and is the co-founder of the Empower One, Empower All Foundation, which focuses on supporting underprivileged communities.
