Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Program Successfully Concludes

The Center for Mentorship and Career Development (CMCD) recently hosted a highly successful Continuous Professional Development (CPD) program centered on the theme “Interdisciplinary Collaborations, Mentorship, and Leadership in Academia.” The event, which took place on March 12, 2025, brought together 100 participants from various academic and professional backgrounds.

Four distinguished speakers shared their expertise and insights:

  • Prof. A. F. Abdulsalam delivered a forward-thinking presentation on “The Future of Academic Collaboration in a Digital Era,” exploring how technology is reshaping cross-institutional partnerships.
  • Mr. Solomon Barnabas Aliyu discussed “Mentorship as a Catalyst for Excellence,” highlighting practical strategies for effective mentoring relationships.
  • Prof. Hauwa Lamino Abubakar addressed crucial issues in her talk on “Women and Underrepresented Groups in Academic Leadership,” offering pathways to greater inclusion.
  • Prof. Muhammad Akaro Mainoma (Former Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi) concluded with insights on “Bridging Disciplines for Innovation,” drawing from his extensive leadership experience.

The event fostered meaningful discussions on enhancing academic collaborations and mentorship practices, with participants reporting high satisfaction with both content and networking opportunities.
