On November 25, 2025, Team Regenexx from Kaduna State University, consisting of five talented students – Dada Adebola Victoria (team lead), Idoko Delight Ihotu (research and development lead), Bako Nathaniel (product designer), Ishako Smith (software developer), and Ibrahim Mubarak (software developer) – proudly announced their achievement as one of the ten finalist universities in the Corderina University Challenge 2025.

Over the last few months, the team progressed through various stages of the competition, beginning with an abstract submission that led to a pitch presentation and intensive mentorship sessions. Their innovation, Wrap2Grow, is a biodegradable plastic designed to break down in suitable environmental conditions. It features a mobile app for farmers to monitor the degradation process and also serves as a biofertilizer.

This solution tackles plastic pollution and the high costs of chemical fertilizers. Team Regenexx is grateful for the opportunity provided by Kaduna State University and looks forward to making meaningful contributions to sustainability.
