The opening football match of the 27th NUGA Games 2025 between Kaduna State University (KASU) and Delta State University (DELSU) ended in a dramatic 4–4 draw, leaving spectators thrilled at the University of Jos old site pitch.
The game began with Delta State University dominating the early minutes, taking a strong lead of 2–0. Their attacking momentum continued as they found the back of the net twice more, extending the scoreline to 4–0 against Kaduna State University by the middle of the match.
However, KASU refused to give up. Their resilience spirit manifested Funom David Jatau converted a penalty, reducing the deficit to 4–1. Moments later, Hi Benjamin netted another goal, bringing the score to 4–2.
The momentum shifted completely as Lawal Salis Nass and Abdulmalik Hamish scored two quick goals for KASU, completing a remarkable comeback to level the match at 4–4 near the closing stages.
