As part of its continuous efforts to promote safety, discipline, and awareness among students, the Kaduna State University Consultancy Services Unit (KASU Consult) organised a sensitisation lecture for all female students residing in the university’s hostel accommodation.



The sensitization session which took place on Friday, 30th May 2025, featured three expert resource persons who delivered insightful lectures on key issues affecting student life on campus:
1. “Impact of Cooking and Use of Electrical Appliances in the Hostel: What a Student Needs to Know,” delivered by Mal. Salisu Jibril, Fire Service Unit.The lecture emphasised fire safety, responsible use of electrical appliances, and preventive measures to avoid fire outbreaks within the hostel premises.
2. “Moral Decadence vis-à-vis Fundamental Human Rights: Issues and Challenges on Campus”
Delivered by Dr. Muhammad Kabir Dauda, Dean, Student Affairs. This presentation addressed the erosion of values among students, its implications on personal rights and communal living, and the need for students to uphold moral and ethical standards.
3. “Obligations of Students within the University Premises and Current Security Challenges”
Delivered by Col. (Rtd) Ahmed Yabagi, Chief Security Officer.
The session highlighted students’ responsibilities regarding security, university regulations, and how to navigate emerging security concerns within and around the campus.
The students expressed appreciation for the timely and impactful sensitisation and appealed to KASU Consult to make such engagements a regular feature of student support and welfare initiatives.
