The Faculty of Education at Kaduna State University (KASU) hosted a Connected Learning for STEM (CL4STEM) education workshop with the theme “School Based Scaling of Innovative Teaching Strategies for 21st Century STEM Education” on Thursday, 16th January 2025, aimed at enhancing innovative teaching strategies and fostering collaboration. Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, welcomed participants, emphasizing the importance of skill improvement and active participation.

The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Muhammad Muftahu, represented by Dr. Joseph Duniya, Head of the Science Education Department, highlighted the significance of future-ready skills and teamwork. Mrs. Adama Abdullahi Wada from the Kaduna State Ministry of Education encouraged attendees to maximize the program’s benefits.

Dr. Fatima S. Kabir, Kaduna State Coordinator of CL4STEM, discussed innovative teaching practices, introducing the Connected Learning for STEM (CL4STEM) approach. This method bridges formal and informal learning through personalized pathways, real-world applications, and technology-enhanced learning. Despite challenges such as resource limitations and resistance to change, she underscored the significant benefits of adopting these practices.


Other resource persons included Kaduna CL4STEM Teacher Educators—Dr. Umar Aliyu, Dr. Sarah Usman, and Dr. Samira Dahiru—all from the Faculty of Education, Kaduna State University. They engaged participants in group discussions on CL4STEM innovative modules and Communities of Practice.
The workshop concluded with a closing remark by Dr. Halliru Khidir, who expressed gratitude to all participants.
