Kaduna State University (KASU) received a high-powered delegation from Al-Azhar University, Egypt, on a courtesy visit aimed at fostering academic collaboration and institutional partnership.


The delegation was led by Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Jumaa and was accompanied by senior officials, including Dr. Ahmed El-Safy, PhD, Dr. Ibrahim Khair Abdulwahab and Abu Bakr Ahmad.The team was guided to the university by renowned Kaduna-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, who facilitated their visit.
During the meeting, both institutions held extensive discussions on areas of mutual cooperation, particularly in social sciences, law, allied sciences, and medicine. The deliberations focused on knowledge exchange, academic partnerships, and the deployment of resource persons between the two universities to strengthen teaching, research, and professional development.


Speaking during the visit, the leader of the team expressed deep appreciation to the management of Kaduna State University for the warm reception accorded to his delegation. He reaffirmed the Islamic University’s readiness to collaborate in advancing educational excellence and expanding opportunities for academic exchange.
In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University, Professor Abdullahi Musa, expressed delight over the visit and emphasized the university’s openness to productive partnerships. He noted that a strong working relationship between KASU and Islamic University would enhance academic standards and promote global engagement for both institutions.


The delegation was guided by Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar Gumi, who facilitated the visit and stressed the need to strengthen academic ties between the two institutions.
Also speaking, Professor Auwal Abdulsalam, DirectorAcademic planning, highlighted areas where Kaduna State University has made significant strides, particularly in allied sciences and pharmacy. He underscored the university’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to the proposed collaboration through its experienced faculty and academic resources.
The visit witnessed the presentation of a symbolic gift from the Islamic University delegation of a beautifully crafted replica of the Holy Kaaba containing a copy of the Holy Qur’an to Kaduna State University as a gesture of goodwill and mutual respect.
The visit by the delegation and the University Management marked the beginning of what both institutions described as a promising and mutually beneficial partnership.
