KASU Moves To Improve Teaching Practice Supervision in Nigeria

The Faculty of Education, Kaduna State University organised a one-day seminar on Teaching Practice Supervision. The seminar held on Thursday, 11th September 2025 at the Makarfi Hall of the College of Continuing Education (CCE), Kakuri.   

Opening Remarks were delivered by the Chairperson of the Seminar, the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Education, Dr. Joseph N Duniya. He mentioned teaching practice as a cornerstone of the teaching profession stressing its importance towards the development of teachers in the country. He noted the timeliness of the seminar while stating its importance as a necessary quality control step towards ensuring the quality of teachers produced in the country.

The Assistant Dean, Dr Abubakar Sadiq Rabiu highlighted the benefits of this seminar to the participants and encouraged them to listen attentively, learn key techniques in supervision and put to practice, the key takeaways from the day.

Provost of the College, Dr Jibril Lawal presented a paper titled; Preparation for Teaching Practice Supervision: A Proposal for Paradigm shift. The presentation discussed novel concepts in teaching practice supervision.

An interactive question and answer session followed the presentation.

In his closing remarks, the Faculty Examinations Officer, Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Isa, on behalf of the participants, extended gratitude’s to the provost for his enriching presentation. He also thanked the organising committee for ensuring the success of the seminar.
