Professor Aminu Ladan Sharehu, OON, is a distinguished scholar, educator, and administrator, specializing in Public Administration with a focus on Development Administration. He holds a Ph.D. from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and serves as a Professor at Kaduna State University. His extensive academic and administrative career spans numerous leadership roles, research contributions, and global engagements.

Biography

Professor Aminu Ladan Sharehu, OON – Born in Zaria City, Kaduna State, Nigeria, He is a distinguished academic and public administrator. He completed his primary education at Kaura L.E.A. Primary School and later earned a Grade II Teachers Certificate from Zaria Teachers’ College. Driven by a passion for education, he pursued a B.A. in English Literature (1988), a Master’s in Educational Administration & Planning (1992), and a Ph.D. in Public Administration (2002) from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria.

Professor Sharehu’s career spans over three decades in academia and public service. He rose through the ranks at ABU, Zaria, eventually becoming a Professor of Public Administration with a specialization in Development Administration at Kaduna State University (KASU) in 2021. He has held several significant administrative positions, including Special Adviser to the Kaduna State Government on Education, Director-General of the National Teachers’ Institute, and various leadership roles in education and distance learning.

An advocate for national integration and educational advancement, Professor Sharehu has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the National Productivity Order of Merit Award (2013) and the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) in 2014. He is also an influential leader in several community development organizations and educational boards, contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s educational system.
