Helen Afang Andow is the first female Professor of Entrepreneurship Management from the northern part of the country, an alumnus of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) and a doctoral graduate of the prestigious premier Military University in West Africa, Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). She started her teaching career in 2006 at the Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna as an Assistant lecturer and left as lecturer I to Kaduna State University as a senior lecturer in 2014 where she attained the rank of professorship in 2020. She has authored 8 textbooks and over 80 peer-reviewed research articles in national and international journals. She was a former head of the Department, Business Administration from 2014 – 2018; Director, Entrepreneurship Research and Development Centre from 2018 – 2022, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate School 2016 – 2017; Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences in 2023 and a senate member of Kaduna State University from 2014 – Date. She has successfully supervised 7 PhDs and 38 MScs and externally examined 17 PhDs, 24 MPhil and 72 MScs across Nigerian Universities and externally assessed 10 Professors. She has attended workshops, trainings, courses and conferences across the globe.

She has supervised 7 PhD and 38 MSc students, while also externally examining numerous dissertations across Nigerian universities.
