Dr. Fatima Shehu Kabir: Academic and Professional Profile
Dr. Fatima Shehu Kabir is an Associate Professor and Deputy Dean at Kaduna State University, with a wealth of expertise in e-learning technologies, ICT, instructional design, and distance education. Her academic career includes collaborations with esteemed institutions and both national and international partnerships. As a scholar and consultant, she is dedicated to developing innovative solutions that promote digital learning, equity, and sustainable education. Additionally, Dr. Kabir is actively involved in training teachers to integrate technology and innovation into their teaching practices through the National Smart Schools project.
Dr. Fatima Shehu Kabir was born in Kano, Nigeria. She hails from Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State and is a Nigerian by nationality. Dr. Kabir is an Associate Professor of Educational Technology at Kaduna State University (KASU), where she also serves as Deputy Dean, Faculty of Education and Deputy Director, Distance Learning Institute.
Dr. Kabir earned her Ph.D. in Instructional Technology in 2016 and has a robust educational background, including qualifications from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Birkbeck College, University of London, and Rivers State University of Science and Technology. Her expertise spans e-learning, instructional design, and the integration of technology into education.
She is involved with the training of teachers to integrate technology and innovation into their teaching practices under the National Smart Schools project.
Over the years, she has held numerous leadership positions, including Head of Department, Director of ICT, and Consultant for national and international organizations. She has also designed over 100 courseware materials for open and distance e-learning programs.
Dr. Kabir is a dedicated scholar with multiple publications and has presented her research at international conferences. She is a recipient of awards for her pioneering contributions to e-learning and ICT, making a significant impact on Nigeria’s educational landscape.
