Biography

Dr. Abdulkadir Yahaya Muhammed is a multidisciplinary scholar whose expertise bridges urban and regional planning, geospatial technologies, and transportation geography. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning, M.Sc. in Remote Sensing and GIS, and Ph.D. in Geography (Transportation) — all from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. To deepen his understanding of sustainability, he also completed an M.Sc. in Sustainable Environmental Studies at the same institution. A certified teacher by the Teachers Registration Council (TRC), Dr. Muhammed began his academic journey with an NCE in Geography and Computer Science from the Federal College of Education, Zaria. His research and teaching interests focus on the dynamic intersections of urbanization, transportation systems, climate risks, and sustainable development, emphasizing the use of spatial technologies to design evidence-based solutions to environmental and planning challenges. Dr. Muhammed is deeply passionate about academic excellence, mentoring, and policy development that promote climate resilience and sustainable urban systems. Through his research, teaching, and community engagement, he continues to advance scholarship and contribute to Nigeria’s progress toward a more sustainable, technologically informed, and environmentally conscious future.
