Biography of Dr. Abdulkarim Lawal Mayere

Dr. Abdulkarim Lawal Mayere was born on 1st May 1984. He hails from Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Nigeria. He currently resides at No. 4c Tafawa Belewa Way, Unguwar Rimi, Kaduna.

Dr. Mayere is an accomplished academic and researcher, presently serving as an Associate Professor at the Centre for Energy and Environmental Strategy Research, under the Faculty of Science. His research and teaching career have been marked by dedication, innovation, and a strong passion for advancing renewable energy technologies.

He began his academic journey at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, where he obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Communication and Electronics Engineering with Second Class Upper Division in 2007. Driven by his quest for knowledge and innovation, he proceeded to the University of Nottingham, UK, where he earned a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Electrical Engineering and Entrepreneurship (Merit) in 2009, and subsequently completed his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Renewable Energy Technology in 2011.

In recognition of his expertise and leadership in management and research, Dr. Mayere became a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (IMC), Nigeria in 2019. That same year, he was selected as a Mandela Washington Fellow at the University of California, Davis, USA, further strengthening his professional and academic credentials.

Since joining academia in 2012, Dr. Mayere has demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, and community service. His last promotion to Associate Professor came in 2019, and he currently holds the salary grade of CONUASS 6. With years of impactful service, he is now aspiring to attain the esteemed position of Professor.

Dr. Mayere is a Nigerian by nationality, male, and married. He is fluent in English and Hausa, languages that have aided his communication and collaboration both locally and internationally.
