At Kaduna State University (KASU), community service engages students in initiatives like health outreach and environmental clean-ups, fostering civic responsibility and empathy while addressing local social issues and enhancing personal growth.

Dr. Esther Gani

The HoD - LRCN, NLA, FMCA, SCS, and ARISE.

Dr. Esther Gani holds a BALIS/Sociology from BUK, an M.LS from ABU, and is a Ph.D. scholar at ICT University, USA. She has additional certifications from King’s College London and the University of Pretoria. Joining KASU in 2006 as a system librarian, she is now H.O.D. of the Community Service Department. Dr. Gani has presented over 27 conference papers, published 19 journal articles, edited one book, and contributed to a book chapter. Her professional memberships include LRCN, NLA, FMCA, SCS, and ARISE. She enjoys reading, teaching, adventures, swimming, and cooking.

About Us

The Community Service Department’s CSD activities aim to support teaching, learning, and research in the university community. The department’s activities are embedded in librarianship, graduate employability, maker space, and community engagement. Between 2023 and 2024, the department planned and organized about 31 activities Additionally, there are about 11 activities left for the year 2024.
