NIPR Pays Courtesy Visit to Kaduna State University Ahead of 2026 NPRW, AGM

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Kaduna State Chapter, paid a courtesy visit to Kaduna State University (KASU) on Monday, 16 March 2026 as part of preparations for the forthcoming Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW) and the Institute’s 63rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled to hold in Kaduna in April 2026.

The delegation, comprising Musa Bashir Usman, Mohammed Abdullahi, Ahmed Balarabe Sai’d, Latifah Isma’il, Garba Muhammad, and Professor Ayodele Joseph, visited the university to formally notify the management of KASU about the event and to solicit the institution’s support and participation.

According to the official correspondence dated 25th February 2026 and referenced NPRW/KD-LOC/CROC-CITY 2026/001, Kaduna State has been selected to host the 3rd Nigerian Public Relations Week (NPRW) alongside the 63rd AGM of NIPR. The event is scheduled to hold from Monday, April 20 to Friday, April 24, 2026, in Kaduna.

The letter, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor of KASU, Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, stated that the visit was also to inform the university that KASU had been selected to host a Special Session with Communication Students in Kaduna State on Monday, April 20, 2026. The event is expected to attract over 2,000 delegates, including public relations professionals, policymakers, industry leaders, communication experts, and members of the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communication Management representing 126 countries.

During the visit, Prof. Ayodele Joseph of KASU, who is also a member of NIPR, described the hosting of the event as a significant privilege for the university. He noted that students from across the country and beyond would converge for the programme, creating valuable exposure and opportunities for KASU. He added that he and his colleagues were looking forward to a positive response from the university management.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration),
Prof.Bashir Ali, expressed delight that Kaduna State was chosen to host the prestigious event and that KASU would serve as a venue for part of the programme. He commended the NIPR delegation for their thoughtfulness in involving the university and assured them that the management would carefully consider the proposal at its next meeting.

Prof. Bashir Ali further assured the delegation of the full participation of both staff and students, emphasizing that the university’s academic personnel would do their utmost to ensure the success of the programme. He reiterated management’s willingness to support initiatives that promote academic engagement and professional development.

Also present from the university was Dr. Aliyu Tahir, Deputy Director, Corporate Services Department, KASU.

The NIPR delegates, in their closing remarks, expressed gratitude to the university management for the warm reception and conveyed optimism regarding the approval and successful hosting of the programme.

The 2026 Nigerian Public Relations Week is expected to provide Kaduna State University with a strategic platform to showcase its academic excellence, programmes, and services to a highly targeted and influential audience.
