Kaduna State University (KASU), in collaboration with Ola Eli Engineering Services (OES), has commenced a five-day workshop titled “Python for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics,” aimed at strengthening the digital and technical competencies of the University’s instructors. The training began today, Monday, 17th November 2025, and will run until Friday, 21st November 2025.

The programme was hosted by the Vice-Chancellor of KASU, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, and sponsored by Hon. Abdulmalik Zubairu (Zannan Bungudu), Member Representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency. The workshop is coordinated by Rabiu Adamu and facilitated by Dr. Olakunle Elijah, Founder of Ola Eli Engineering Services. The Director of ICT, Engr. Martins Sambo, was also in attendance to support the University’s ongoing digital transformation initiatives.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Elijah highlighted the significance of Python in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. He explained that the workshop is designed to equip instructors with practical skills in programming, IoT, microcontroller applications, and robotics using tools such as Raspberry Pi and Robo Pico.

Over the course of the five days, participants will be trained in Python fundamentals, object-oriented programming, intelligent system development, and robotics control operations. Day one featured introductory Python concepts using Anaconda and Spyder, covering variables, data types, loops, functions, and basic programming structures. Participants also received a resource material titled “MicroPython Made Easy: Raspberry Pi Pico-W Projects for Beginners.”

The opening day concluded on a highly positive note, as participants expressed enthusiasm and readiness for more advanced sessions in AI, IoT, and robotics. The workshop represents an important step in KASU’s commitment to technological innovation, staff capacity building, and enhanced digital competence.
