Prof. Hauwa’u Evelyn Yusuf of Kaduna State University (KASU) has been re-elected as the National President of the Nigerian Anthropological and Sociological Practitioners Association (NASA). The election took place today, Tuesday, 4th November 2025, marking her second tenure of two years at the helm of the association.
Prof. Yusuf, a distinguished scholar from the Department of Sociology, KASU, has been widely commended for her visionary leadership, commitment to academic excellence, and dedication to promoting the disciplines of Sociology and Anthropology in Nigeria.


During her first tenure, she spearheaded several initiatives aimed at strengthening professional collaboration among practitioners, advancing research in social sciences, and enhancing the visibility of NASA both nationally and internationally.
In her acceptance remarks, Prof. Yusuf expressed gratitude to the members of the association for the renewed confidence reposed in her leadership. She reaffirmed her commitment to building on past achievements and fostering greater unity, capacity development, and policy engagement within the association.
The Management of Kaduna State University has also congratulated Prof. Hauwa’u Evelyn Yusuf on her re-election, describing it as a testament to her outstanding leadership qualities and scholarly contributions to the field of Sociology.
