The Department of Christian Religious Studies, Kaduna State University, on 9th October 2025, held a public presentation and book launch titled “Faith, Church, and Service to Humanity,” in honour of Rev. (Dr.) Yunusa Sabi Nmadu Jnr.



Welcoming guests, Dr. John Ishaya, Head of Department, encouraged students to draw inspiration from role models like Rev. Madu and underscored the importance of cultivating a strong reading culture. He urged attendees to acquire the book, noting its valuable insights.


Hon. Yakubu Dogara, CFR, who chaired the occasion, commended Rev. Nmadu for documenting his ideas in a work that blends faith with societal relevance. He described the book as essential reading for students, scholars, public servants, and religious leaders, stressing the Church’s vital role in serving humanity.
In her review, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, observed that the book skillfully explores the connection between faith, the Church, and community service, portraying Christianity as both a spiritual and civic responsibility.


The book was formally unveiled by Prof. Barnabas Williams Qurix, Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Kachia. He praised Rev. Madu’s lifelong commitment to education, faith, and community development.


In his remarks, Rev. (Dr.) Yunusa Sabi Nmadu Jnr. Expressed deep appreciation to God, his family, and the clergy for their support. He clarified that he was not the book’s author and announced that all proceeds from its sales would go toward scholarships for students of Christian Religious Knowledge and Religious Studies.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Rev. Fr. George Odafe, CPC Chairman and Chief Launcher, commended the event’s success and lauded the Vice Chancellor and management of Kaduna State University for their support. He also appreciated the organizing committee, guests, and the honouree for their inspiring contributions to faith and scholarship.
