Former Dean Renovates Mass Communication Studio: VC Commends Prof. Ayodele Joseph’s Generous Contribution

The Vice-Chancellor of Kaduna State University (KASU), Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, has commended the Director, Centre for Digital Divide and Social Informatics, Prof. Ayodele B. Joseph, a former Head of the Department of Mass Communication, pioneer KASU FM Station Manager and pioneer Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, for his outstanding gesture in renovating the department’s studio.

Prof. Joseph initiated, solely financed, and personally supervised the renovation project from start to finish, ensuring that the studio is now better equipped to serve students and staff in teaching, learning, and practical training.

During a visit to the refurbished facility, the Vice-Chancellor expressed deep appreciation for Prof. Joseph’s selfless contribution, describing it as an exemplary act of commitment to the growth of the University.

“This kind of dedication demonstrates true leadership and passion for institutional development. Prof. Joseph has set a worthy example for others to follow,” the Vice-Chancellor said.

Prof. Joseph, in his remarks, noted that the gesture was motivated by his desire to give back to the department and enhance practical learning for students in the field of communication and media studies.

The Station Manager of KASU FM, Haj. Umma Haliru, also expressed heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Joseph, describing the renovation as a game-changer for the station’s operations and students’ training. “This studio is the heart of our practical work. With the new improvements, students can gain industry-standard experience right here on campus. We are truly grateful to Prof. Joseph for this remarkable contribution,” she said.

The renovated studio is expected to significantly improve hands-on training, providing a more conducive environment for broadcasting, production, and other media-related activities.
