Kaduna State University’s Institute of Education successfully held its matriculation and orientation ceremony for new Diploma students on Wednesday, 16th July 2025.
The event took place at the 1000-Seater Theatre and brought together staff, students, and special guests to formally welcome the new students into the academic community.



The Deputy Director of the Institute, Dr. Sadiq Rabiu, delivered the welcome address, expressing joy in receiving the new students and assuring them of the university’s commitment to training them in academics, knowledge, and character. He emphasized that students who meet the required points in their studies upon graduation will be automatically promoted to the 200 level in their respective programs.
The oath-taking segment was led by Mrs. Àsià Ismail on behalf of Barr. Abdulmutalab Idris is guiding students through the official oath and highlighting the importance of adhering to university rules and standards. Mrs. Àsià addressed the students on expected ethics and integrity, emphasizing decent dressing, mutual respect, and the dangers of assault, cybercrime, and exam misconduct. She urged students to report any form of sexual harassment immediately.



The Director, Mentorship and Career Development, Dr. Bashariyya Mustapha, spoke on mentorship and career development, encouraging students to be intentional about self-growth and make the most of
their time at the university.
Abusufiyan Yusuf guided students on the essential skills in e-registration, explaining how to navigate the university’s portal.
Goodwill messages were delivered by representatives from the Directorate of Academic Planning, Students’ Affairs, and the Deputy Vice-Chancellors. Dr. Ahmad Musa gave the vote of thanks, expressing appreciation to all who contributed to the event’s success.
The ceremony concluded with prayers, group photographs, and short interviews with some newly matriculated students.
The event marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the Diploma students at KASU’s Institute of Education.
