Research

The Department of Building at Kaduna State University is dedicated to making a positive impact on society through actionable research. Our projects are designed to address pressing challenges and improve the lives and wellbeing of individuals in our community.

Recently, our department conducted a study that investigated “Sustainable Building Practices for Climate Change Mitigation in Nigeria”. This research aimed to identify effective strategies for reducing energy consumption, promoting green building technologies, and enhancing building resilience within our community.

One of the research projects embarked upon by the Department was “Developing a Sustainable Building Management System for Kaduna State University”. The background to the study is that Kaduna State University faces building-related challenges, including energy inefficiency, poor indoor air quality, and inadequate building maintenance, impacting students, staff, and the surrounding community.

Our objective is to develop and implement an integrated building management system that promotes sustainability, reduces environmental footprint, enhances campus aesthetics, and supports the well-being of building occupants.

CONFERENCE AND WORKSHOPS

Kaduna State University fosters a culture of scholarly discourse by providing platforms for intellectual exchange, recognizing innovative ideas, and adding value to the field of building science.
