Mission

The mission of the faculty aligns with the mission of the College of Medicine which is;

‘.. to train medical doctors and other health personnel of high academic standard who will man the health services in Kaduna state and other parts of Nigeria; who can practice in the community and primary health care settings; who can practice in any part of the world; and who are able to undertake further training to become specialists; and are able to carry out scientific research for the benefit of humanity.’

Vision

The vision of the Faculty aligns with the vision of the College of Medicine which is;

‘to produce medical doctors and other health personnel who understand the normal and abnormal human body, the family and the society; with enough scientific knowledge to undertake further training to become specialists, teachers and researchers.’

Philosophy

The philosophy of Kaduna State University’s medical school is to train doctors to understand international best practice in the context of existing realities of today’s Nigeria and in line with the Nation’s Health policy which is based on Primary Health Care. The essence of the medical training programme is to produce our own doctors to work amongst our own people.
