Our faculty research projects are tailored towards addressing concerns on housing deficits and property management in line with contemporary issues and periodic trends in assessing the impact of the case study.

Kaduna State University Estate Management Department is at the forefront in hosting conferences and workshops aimed to foster industry-academia collaboration and knowledge sharing in annual International Conference on Real Estate and Sustainable Development, Bi-annual Workshop on Property Valuation and Appraisal, Quarterly Seminar Series on Emerging Trends in Estate Management, Workshop on Green Building and Energy Efficiency and Stakeholder Forum on Urban Regeneration and Renewal.
Additionally, our Department’s partnerships with Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), African Real Estate Society (AFRES), International Real Estate Society (IRES), Government Agencies and Private Sector Organizations enriches the professionalism of the programme and setting pace for global competitiveness.
Providing conducive environment for learning and training process for our students is a core mandate of the Estate Management Department. We have state-of-the-art facilities and equipment comprising multimedia-enabled classrooms, Computer Laboratory with more than 50 Personal Computers installed software (ArcGIS, Autodesk and SPSS) for data analysis, Surveying Equipment, GPS, Total Station and Theodolite.
We equally have over 5,000 volumes of books and online data base, Field Equipment like measuring tapes, and leveling instruments as well as Audio-Visual Aids such as Projectors, screens, and public address system
Our Department uses Specialized Software application systems that includes; Property management software (PMSS), Geographic Information System (GIS) and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
THE LIBRARY
The Estate Management Department’s library provides access to comprehensive resources. With a Collection of more than 5,000 books on estate management, property development, and urban planning, over 20 international and local journals (print and digital), 500 research projects and online databases (ScienceDirect, JSTOR, Emerald) our students are furnished with requisite knowledge and skills to achieve their aspirational goals.
Moreover, the Facilities are equipped with quiet study area, suitable research carrels, Wi-Fi connectivity for easy access to our e-learning platforms.
Our Department offer support services in the areas of reference and research assistance, interlibrary loan services, document delivery, information literacy training and community engagement to cater for specific needs of our students and the general public.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
At Kaduna State University, the Estate Management Department commitment to community engagement through stakeholder relations fosters our strong community services in areas of; organizing public Lectures on property rights and ownership, hosts Workshops on sustainable urban development, collaborate with local governments and stakeholders community outreach programmes on housing and infrastructure and partnerships with industry professionals and organizations to deepen knowledge sharing.
Some of our Community Projects included the Kaduna City Renewal Initiative, framework policy for Low-Cost Housing Scheme and design of Slum Upgrading Program in urban centers.
These are targeted to improve the quality of life for communities, expose our students to practical experience, explore research opportunities for faculty members and networking with industry stakeholders.
STUDENTS ACTIVITIES
The estate management department of Kaduna state university encourages holistic approach development through formation of Students associations, allows academic competition focusing on property development challenge and real estate quiz.
As part of community service, students of the department initiated a clean-up exercise for the host communities and professional development through mentorship programmes with industry experts in addition to career workshops and seminars.
