The Student Affairs Division was established in 2007 and currently has seven operational Units as follows

  1. General Administration
  2. Guidance and Counseling Unit
  3. Hall Administration
  4. NYSC Mobilization
  5. Gender Desk Office
  6. International Students and Scholarship Desk
  7. Club and Cultural Association

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

The Unit supervised day to day business of the Division. It handle all administrative activities such as staff promotion, association registration, courtesy calls and educational tours, student’s partnership and expedition, orientation and lots more.

GUIDANCE AND COUNSELLING

The Unit provided a wide range of counseling and psychological services to students and staff of the university on the various cases with the ultimate goal of resolving difficulties as well as nurturing personal growth.  The units serve as consulting, consultation and reference base of the university.

NYSC MOBILIZATION UNIT

The unit is responsible for mobilization of prospective corps members. Other duties includes attending pre-mobilization which normally takes place twice in a year, submission of hard copy of Senate approve results to NYSC Directorate Headquarters  at Abuja depends on number of batches and streams, distribution of certificates of exemption, resolving issue associated with NYSC mobilization.

GENDER DESK OFFICE

The unit was newly established in 2018 due to exigency of the need to check molestation and harassment of students’ especially female students by their male counterparts, lecturers and other staff, dress code enforcement, ensure good and presentable characters and conduct among students of the university.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DESK

The unit was established in 2018 to overseer the issue of International students. The Desk is primarily would primarily handles issues coordinating and facilitating issues of bursary disbursement, federal scholarship, results verification and any other duty assigned by the Dean.

MEDICAL HALL ADMINISTRATION

The Medical Students’ Hostel catered for both male and female medical students. It has a capacity of 120 beds. However, due to scarcity of accommodation the University had allowed for students from other Sciences based courses and Pharmacy to be accommodated.
