Research

The Department of Paediatrics at Kaduna State University is committed to improving child health and wellbeing through impactful clinical practice, research, and community engagement. Our initiatives are designed to address pressing child health challenges and contribute to the overall wellbeing of children and families in our society.

Recently, our department undertook a study titled “Improving Child Health Outcomes at Kaduna State University Teaching Hospital: A Comprehensive Paediatric Care Strategy.” This research focused on identifying practical approaches to enhance paediatric healthcare delivery, reduce preventable childhood illnesses, and strengthen early intervention services within our institution and the surrounding communities.

One of the key research projects embarked upon by the Department was “Improving Child Health Outcomes at Kaduna State University Teaching Hospital: A Comprehensive Paediatric Care Strategy.” The background to the study highlights that children in the region face significant health challenges, including high rates of infectious diseases, malnutrition, and limited access to specialised paediatric care—factors that greatly affect their development and quality of life.

Our primary objective is to develop and implement a holistic paediatric care framework that promotes early diagnosis, enhances treatment outcomes, reduces child morbidity and mortality, and builds a healthier future for the children we serve.
