Welcome to the Department of Family Medicine at Kaduna State University, Kaduna, Nigeria.
Our department is committed to advancing knowledge and fostering excellence in family-centered medical care. We focus on three core areas:
The Department of Family Medicine was established at Kaduna State University in 2017.
The department provides one-month rotations for 500-level medical students.
Currently, the department has two academic staff and one non-academic staff member.
Activities during the students’ rotation include lectures, tutorials, clinic attendance at the GOPC, skills acquisition at the Accident and Emergency unit, and bedside teaching in the Accident and Emergency wards.
Students are assessed based on their attendance and performance in all these activities.
At the end of the rotation, students take an end-of-posting exam.

Students are assessed in all these aspects based on their attendance and performance in these activities. At the end of the posting, students take an examination to conclude their training.

Research: The departmental staff engage in research related to the domain, peculiarities, and scope of Family Medicine. The department also collaborates with academic staff from other departments within the College of Medicine and other faculties in the university to conduct research. The staff of the Family Medicine Department have published articles in reputable journals both locally and internationally.
Conferences and Workshops: Academic staff have attended certified conferences, workshops, and update courses both locally and internationally. Papers have also been presented at such conferences, update courses, and workshops.

STUDENTS ACTIVITIES
