The Center for Mentorship and Career Development (CMCD), Kaduna State University (KASU), in collaboration with the Institute of Registered Administrative Managers of Nigeria (IRAMN), organized an Executive Training Programme on Tuesday, 19th August 2025, at the 500-Seater Pharmacy Hall, Main Campus.
The programme, themed “Punctuality and Welfare as Twin Factors of Productivity Enhancement: Leading with Discipline, Thriving with Compassion,” brought together Principal Officers, Provosts, Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments and Units, as well as other senior staff of the University. Read More
The Center for Mentorship and Career Development (CMCD), in collaboration with the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Kaduna State University (KASU), successfully organized a One-Week Digital Literacy Bootcamp aimed at equipping students with essential digital skills for academic excellence and career readiness.
The bootcamp recorded over 1,000 registrations, with 400 undergraduate students successfully trained and certified across various digital skill areas.
The programme featured four key courses:
Computer Appreciation (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
Facilitated by ICDL-certified trainers, this course equipped participants with practical skills in Microsoft Office applications required for academic work, research, and professional documentation.
Graphic Design
Participants were introduced to graphic design using Canva, where they learned how to create visually appealing posters, presentations, and social media graphics suitable for academic and professional use.
Data Analysis
This session focused on data analysis using Microsoft Excel. Students were trained on data organization, chart creation, and basic statistical analysis to support research and decision-making.
GIS & Remote Sensing
Experts in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing provided participants with foundational knowledge in spatial data analysis and its applications in environmental and resource management.
Mentoring Unit – Manages structured and specialized mentorship programs, pairing mentees with experienced professionals from HEIs and industries worldwide. This unit ensures meaningful mentor-mentee relationships that drive academic, leadership, and career growth.
Training & Capacity-Building Unit – Develops and delivers targeted training sessions for individuals, HEIs, and organizations, focusing on leadership, mentorship, career development, and industry-specific skills.
Workshops & Bootcamps Unit – Organizes hands-on workshops and intensive career development bootcamps, equipping participants with practical skills, industry insights, and networking opportunities.
Information & Resource Unit – Curates and disseminates research, reports, and best practices on mentorship, leadership, gender equity, and professional growth. This unit ensures access to high-quality learning materials for mentees, mentors, and partner organizations. Read More
